Anyone else kept awake last night by the storm that came through? I wasn't exactly kept awake by the thunder - it was just that my one of my dogs doesn't like storms and when she's afraid she needs to snuggle and be reassured. I can't blame her too much though. When I face "storms" in my life, I am comforted by the fact that God is with me and offers me security and love. Just like last night, we still have to go through the storm, but we don't have to do so alone. 


Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Nahum 1:7  
The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.
Deuteronomy 31:6 
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Psalm 27:1 
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Isaiah 43:2 
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.

We can, of course, try to go through storms on our own. But why? Nolle needed to be with me and needed to feel my touch last night. There is no weakness in admitting that sometimes we need the same from God.
