"Thus says the Lord: Maintain justice, and do what is right, for soon my salvation will come, and my deliverance be revealed. Happy is the mortal who does this, the one who holds it fast, who keeps the sabbath, not profaning it, and refrains from doing any evil. And [those] who join themselves to the Lord, to minister to him, to love the name of the Lord, and to be his servants, all who keep the sabbath, and do not profane it, and hold fast my covenant—these I will bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer .. Thus says the Lord God...." (Isaiah 56:1-2, 6-7).

Every now and again, it's good to pause for a minute and reflect on God's promise of what is to come. The Bible doesn't give much specific detail about the life that will follow this one, but it does give us glimpses. When you read these verses, what image comes to your mind? For me, there is the promise that God will bring us, gather us, into His presence. This place that is called a "holy mountain" will be a place of justice, happiness, love, and worship. It will be a place of joy.

On days when I am struggling, words like this give me the strength to continue praying, maintaining, and doing what is right, as best I can, in the eyes of the Lord. I hope that these words this morning serve as an inspiration to you as well as you begin or end your day.
