For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall never be shaken.
For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him.
On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
my mighty rock, my refuge is in God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.
Despite life's storms and uncertainties, the psalmist declares a profound truth – God alone is our rock, salvation, and fortress. In our Wesleyan tradition, this truth is foundational to our faith. We have trust in God's saving grace and steadfast love.
Just as the psalmist found refuge in God amid life's challenges, we too can find peace and comfort in God's unchanging character. As you face the day, remember that your strength lies not in your own abilities, but in God alone. In the busyness of life, it's easy to rely on our own strength and understanding. However, Psalm 62 reminds us to pause and reaffirm our trust in God. Take a moment to release to God your worries and burdens. Trust that he is your rock and salvation.
Prayer for the Day:
Heavenly Father, thank you for being my rock and salvation. In moments of weakness, help me to trust in your unfailing love and strength. May I find refuge in your presence, knowing that you are my fortress and deliverer. Guide me through the day, and grant me rest in your peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
