For whatever reason, if there even is one, I am having a difficult time getting started this morning. I got up at the usual time, took the dogs outside and fed them, showered - and now here I sit. I "need" my morning cup of coffee, but haven't made it the vast distance to the kitchen yet to make it. Ever feel that way? I certainly hope you do and I'm not alone in this!
I found some verses to remind us of the beauty of morning and to hopefully get me motivated in this new day:
Psalm 143:8
Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.
Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Psalm 30:5
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Psalm 90:14
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Psalm 59:16
But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.
Psalm 118:24
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Time for me to begin a new day; to go get that cup of coffee, prepare for a Greek conversation with a professor at 9:00, and head to the church. More than that, though, it's a great day to remember God's steadfast love!
