Today's psalm is a song of joy to the Lord. When good things happen in your life, do you pause to give thanks to God? Sometimes we need to be reminded that God wants us to have joy in this life he created for us. Don't get so busy in daily life that you forget to truly live!
When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like the watercourses in the Negeb. May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves. (Ps. 126)
Prayer: God, you have done great things for me. You have given me life, family, friends, the ability to laugh, and the ability to love. Most of all you sent Jesus to live as my example, to die for my sins, and to live again as I will live again. May I never get too occupied with life that I forget to live as you would have me live. Amen.
