This time of the year should be a time of thanks, reflection, calmness, and expectation. Unfortunately, for far too many it becomes a time of running errands, cooking dinners, holiday parties, shopping, getting projects done by the end of the year, and the list goes on. Where is the time for calm? Where is the time to pause and give thanks? Where will we find time to wait with expectation the coming of the Christ-child?

A prayer for the season written by Ted Loder:
Now,
O Lord,
calm me into a quietness
that heals
and listens,
and molds my longings
and passions
my wounds
and wonderings
into a more holy
and human
shape.
Amen.
